According to research, sleeping less than five hours can affect the health of your heart. This does not, however, mean you lay in bed all day. Sleeping for more than 9 hours can also affect your heart.

3. Your Cancer Risk Increases
When you don’t get enough sleep, you increase the chances of getting cancer. Research has shown that those who get less sleep are at a higher risk of cancers like breast, colorectal and prostate.

Losing sleep, even for a day, can get in the way of your cognitive process. This is one of the reasons why you can’t think clearly when you wake up tired.
