Practiced for centuries by cultures around the world — including Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine systems — detoxification is about resting, cleansing and nourishing the body from the inside out.
It’s always a good idea to allow our bodies to rest. While getting enough rest on a daily is part of this process, it’s not all there is to it. Sleeping eight hours a day doesn’t guarantee that our internal organs are as healthy as they should be and function as we expect them to.
One option to help these organs rest and become refreshed is by performing a detox. It will clean them out and make sure that they’re not continuously bombarded by toxins and harmful chemicals.
Consider these helpful hints to flush out different organs.
Liver and Gallbladder Detox
If you’re not sure if you really need a good detox, take a look at how well you feel. Are you lethargic, depressed? Do you have trouble concentrating? Are you always gaining weight?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, it might be a good idea to start a detox program.
