Why Does Our Body Like Sugar So Much?
Have you ever had that craving for sweets after a stressful day at work? There’s science behind this. As soon as sugar enters your system, it triggers the release of a feel-good chemical called dopamine. Dopamine makes us happy, like we’re being rewarded. This is why we want it in stressful situations.
The brain remembers this pattern. When you’re sad or frustrated, you want a quick fix of sugar to make you happy. It's only natural for you to eat a chocolate bar and satisfy your mind. More sugar equals more happiness. This becomes a habit whenever you feel low.
Are All Sugars Bad?
Surprisingly, small amounts of natural sugars are not only healthy, but required by our body. The main sources of bad sugars include the usual sweets and desserts as well breads, ketchup, and sauces. They have hidden sugar inside them. It’s so difficult to control the amount of sugar you eat.
