You slice strawberries
Let’s start with a question first? How do you store strawberries? Do you slice them up and keep in the refrigerator to eat later? It does sound efficient, since you can prep in advance.
But that would be one of the worst ways to lose the nutrition strawberries have to offer you. Strawberries are loaded with vitamin C. The vitamin that boosts your immunity and gives your skin the glow it deserves. But how does that happen? What does slicing strawberries have to do with losing vitamin C?
You skin kiwis
Do you remove the brown fuzzy skin on the kiwi fruit? Well you SHOULDN’T! The skin makes the fruit all the more nutritious. Kiwi skin contains antioxidants, immunity boosting vitamin C, and fiber to lower your cholesterol. Can you really think about letting go of all these health benefits?
You eat tomatoes raw
Do you love tomato soup and curry? Well you should. They’re loaded with antioxidants linked to reduced risk of cancer and heart disease. Besides this, they offer you lots of vitamin C and K, folate and potassium.
You peel off cucumber skin
STOP THE PEELING! Like, really.
It comes so naturally to so many of us. Our first instinct is to peel cucumber skin before eating it. We think we’re making them cleaner. But that’s not the case at all. In fact, you’re losing out on a lot of nutrition.
You don’t wash apples
It seems all the more easy to get fiber and nutrients just by picking up an apple. But wait, did you wash it first? Apples are very high on the list of foods contaminated with pesticides.
More than 98% of apples, peaches and cherries contain at least one type of pesticide. Yuck! What’s more, some also coat wax on the skin of apples to make it shinier.
